To think that you feel less nauseous closer to the ground?

I'm 9 weeks pregnant and I feel nauseous most of the time I'm awake. Breathing through my mouth helps but weirdly so does being on the floor. If I'm in the kitchen cooking I don't stand watching the stuff boil on the hob or sit on a chair, I sit on the floor leaning against a unit and the nausea is slightly better. (I don't like to leave the kitchen if I'm cooking - I'm new to gas cookers and they scare the shit out of me). When I'm working (wfh) I lie on the floor rather than on the sofa (I'm also exhausted, I physical cannot sit at a desk to work) The nausea is somehow better if I'm on the floor. Even walking from room to room I sort of hunch over. Am I a lunatic/being unreasonable, or is there something in this nausea being lessened nearer/on the floor theory of mine?

I lie down when I've got a hangover and walk stooped over because I feel better, so I know what you mean.

I know what you mean. I think it's to do with balance. You don't have to put any effort into balance and remaining upright on the floor, also if you do faint, you're much less likely to be injured as you're on the ground.

I agree its to do with balance, and also the body trying to make sure youre as close to the ground as possible so if you do fall/faint you dont hurt yourself

That makes sense! Thank you! Good to know I'm not the only one Smile

For most women 9 weeks is the worst and it starts slooooooowly getting better (well, less bad actually) in a week or two. Hang in there and whatever works, works.

Yes I've got my tricks: breathing through my mouth, lying on the floor and regular teaspoons of lemon curd yogurt. Eclectic! So glad to be wfh so my colleagues can't see my freaky behaviour Grin

I used to rock on my bed while thinking about Bart Simpson when I had bad morning sickness. Don't know why, but it works.
