Trying to date again after 2 years of being single. Have a nearly 2 year old. Chatted to numerous people (5 or 6) and every single one has told me that they don't really want to date someone with such a young child, or has ghosted me as soon as I told them.

I appreciate that this is well within their rights, but makes me wonder, is there really much point in me trying? Does my toddler make me undateable? It appears so so far...

You could try going for single dads?

airo · 22/07/2020 23:00

@oofadoofa two of them were!

How old were the guys you were chatting to and how old are you? Sometimes I think younger men are more likely to have an issue with a woman having children but as people get older, they're more willing to accept that people may have kids

@formerbabe all 35+. I think it's because he's a toddler so very little.

Doesn't the dating site you are using have a space for information about children, so they know before speaking to you?

You may then get fewer people interested in the first place, but at least they may be more worth talking to.

I think it’s just the guys you dated

I know women with toddlers who have lots of men lining up to date them. Maybe it’s just a confidence thing? Are you active on social media? You’re absolutely date-able

How have you met people and how early did you bring up your DS?
