After enjoyably getting to a pretty feral state during lockdown, I find I'm annoyed at all the time I used to spend on grooming. This is not a shaven legs versus natural legs issue - people should do what the hell they like.

I don't have that much leg hair, it's mostly fine hair that doesn't show up much at all, except my shins where I have dark, thicker noticable hair. For years I'd shave my legs fully and I just can't be bothered anymore, I just do my shins thesedays.

So, I'm wondering if epilators are still viewed as a good way to remove hair. My DM used one (painfully) more than twenty years ago so I'm wondering if they've they improved? Anyone love them, anyone hate them?

I'd recommend chemo. No hair anywhere for 9 months then very little grow back. Puts dark hair and lots of other things in perspective too.

Braun silkepil here too.
I shave in winter but before my summer camping I dig out the epilator.. shave legs and leave for two days, take painkillers an hour before.. and go for it.
I find I need to do the every day for a couple of days to catch all the emerging hairs. The pain is awful at first but then I get used to it.

Still can't do my armpits tho!

I love mine! 20ish years in I get away with 3-4 weeks and I have thick dark hair but very sparse.
But it takes a good year I think to make a difference. Doesn’t hurt a bit now, but was terrible to start with.

I've been epilating for around 20 years, I think. It doesn't hurt at all any more on my legs or armpits. The bikini line stings a bit still, but I do it after a large glass of wine and a couple of painkillers, which helps a lot Grin

After all these years much of my body hair has given up and doesn't bother to grow back, which is great.

@Rainbunny I have a Panasonic wet dry one, it's a few years old, mains chargeable but seems pretty powerful to me, it's got loads of attachments too, it looks l8ke the one on this link, but mine is more pink ombre colour than the peach in this link.

I do it around every 6 weeks or so, legs, underarm and bikini, I also use the shaver bit on my bikini area too, it's really useful having that attachment actually! A PP had a good tip of shaving then emulating 3 days later as its less painful that way if you are worried. It does get less painful with time though!

Thanks so much everyone for sharing your experiences. It seems opinions range from brilliant and easy to torture devices that should be displayed in the Tower of London next to the rack Grin

Well I've gone ahead and ordered the epilator you linked to TheLovleyChebbyMcGee I'm excited about the extra attachments for foot smoothing and the exfoliating brush head!
