WRAP THE DAMN NAPPIES!

This sounds so petty but its driving me mad! DH just refuses to wrap nappies up after he changes our 18 month old (you know, stick the tabs around the dirty nappy so its a delightful little poo parcel). I've been asking him nicely ever since she was born and now refuse to pick them up if he leaves one open in the hallway. The only issue is that it starts to smell then I freak out at him and tell him to go and pick it up.

He gets really smart about it and asks what the difference is. I always say its just not nice picking up a dirty open nappy off the floor but he can't actually understand the difference.

I've been asking him so nicely for so long just to wrap them but he refuses to do it - I'm starting to think that maybe he enjoys annoying me.

Is anyone else's DH this much of a bellend! Starting to wish he'd go back to the office!

What on earth?
Wrap your nappy. Put it in a bag if pooey, and straight outside or nappy bin with it.

gnushoes · 21/07/2020 12:13

You're meant to put the crap down the loo BEFORE folding and binning the nappy.

lughnasadh · 21/07/2020 12:16

Resusables/ Disposables?

Either way, I can't imagine leaving them around anywhere except the bin or in a sterilising solution/washing pile (having been emptied).

Are you both just dumping them on the hall floor!?

CoffeeQueenMum · 21/07/2020 12:18

so when he changes a nappy he does part of the job and then just leaves the crap at the end to you

there's your problem

he thinks by doing 80% of the job it's "done"

i can't believe he'd push back on nt wrapping it up, most normal men actually put it in the bin/sack/whatever

otherwise he's only doing part of the task

you should start not finishing something that'll really cause him pain, fuck putting up with this for 18 months.
dinner being served? serve yours and baby's, then start eating. leave his in the pan. because that's the 20% of the work that you don't care enough about to finish.
laundry being put away? put everything away except his socks and pants, dump them on his side of the bed because that's the end bit of the job you can't be arsed to do.

it may sound petty but this was the only way i've had some success with my own (very capable, loving and respectful) partner where he has had blind spots. example: leaving an empty loo roll in the loo for days. wtf. you walk by a bin on your way out of the loo. so i started popping them into his sock drawer.. only took about 3 before he now remembers to put them in the bin every time.

maxdash · 21/07/2020 12:19

So he leaves them open where DD could get them? That's terrible.

GracieLane · 21/07/2020 12:26

That is gross. But then I wrap mine info a "delightful poo parcel", double bag it in a nappy bAg so I'm probably a bit OTT

Gogogadgetarms · 21/07/2020 12:35

God my kids both did poos that went all the way up the back. Placing it on the floor would have resulted in a skid mark on the carpet from the overflow, wrapped or not.
Why isn’t he putting it in the bin? What’s he saving it for?

Nottherealslimshady · 21/07/2020 12:45

Wtf?! Why are they being left laying around the house. How rank. Do you both leave shitty nappies on the floor or just him?

20viona · 21/07/2020 12:55

@Gogogadgetarms 'what's he saving it for?'
This 😂😂😂 love it.

MaggieFS · 21/07/2020 13:01

Yuck! Surely they should go straight into a nappy sack or the bin, so wrapping or not isn't the problem...

MinorArcana · 21/07/2020 13:08

Why doesn’t he just put them straight in the bin once your DC has a fresh nappy on?

Disposing of the used nappy is part of the task!

Isn’t he worried about your 18 month old finding the dirty nappy and playing with the contents, whether it’s wrapped or not, if it’s just left in the hall?

My DH is really, really messy but he’s always been 100% reliable about putting used nappies straight in the bin when he’s changed one of our DC.
