Oozing properties.

To absolutely hate estate agents referring to things as "oozing" it just brings up mental images of toxic waste not charming cottages.

AIBU to legally demand nothing but cold hard facts in the listings? 🤣

Has anyone ever bought a property because an estate agent told them it oozed a quality?

I think of a red angry pimple or boil oozing pus

MynameisHappind · 21/07/2020 10:30

Pimple oozing primula cheese pus

Andthewinnerislucky · 21/07/2020 10:53

I nearly didn't click on the thread because of the word 'oozing' but curiosity got the best of me and I wanted to know what could possible be 'oozing' from a property, while ready to click off immediately at the sight of a disgusting description (puss, vomit, poo all come to mind).

Short answer - Oozing, yuck. YANBU Grin

I hate when they give their personal opinions in listings, overdo the descriptive words.
I’d rather my home didn’t ooze with anything, thanks very much! 🤢

PotholeParadise · 21/07/2020 10:56

I thought this was going to be about an abandoned house oozing sewage and you would be seeking advice on how to contact someone who would deal with it!

JoeCalFuckingZaghe · 21/07/2020 10:57

I can’t remember the name of the comedian but this rings true “you can only ooze two things, charisma and pus”

TyrionsNextWife · 21/07/2020 11:01

Yup, anything oozing belongs in sporners corner and definitely shouldn’t be used to describe something you’re going to live in 🤢

Looking at this estate agency, it's the most off putting guff I've read:

It's the word stunning I don't like. Have you honestly ever looked at a room and been stunned?

MsEllany · 21/07/2020 14:42

“Mr and Mrs Clarke genuinely love my home as much as I do. They are so passionate about it, from the photos to the viewings and beyond, they have made the whole process amazing. And not only that, but they helped us sell the house for what we feel it’s truly worth – I am so grateful“

(From that website).

Sorry Stephen, they just want the commission. What a wanky site. I guess that’s London for you WinkGrin

Watermelontea · 21/07/2020 15:58

@RainbowBabyDreams - Yes, but only because it was so awful. 😂

I love the idea of ample storage space for guests and dogs. Presumably you keep them there when they're not in use?

And surely if you're paying what I would imagine are hefty agency fees you would at least expect pictures to not include blurred people coming down the stairs (North Barn)

And how can an 18th century farm house sit "newly" anywhere?
