Aibu to get a wooden toilet seat?

Lots of house renovation going on at the moment. Our plumber has told us that the house builder (new build) has used the wrong seat for our toilet. WIBU to get a wooden one or are they really naff?

Our downstairs toilet has one. I've always liked it.

One of mine is self closing - such a natty idea

Get a soft close, Lefroy Brooks and Drummond are nice.

(We have one wooden one that's 30 years old, still works fine and if you clean it hygiene isn't an issue)
