WWYD air BnB neighbours/ BBQ & smoke

My downstairs neighbour (and co freeholder) has started to let out her lovely garden flat via air bnb. She has the same guests staying the whole of July.

The garden has a built in brick bbq which is close to the building. The couple have been having a bbq most evenings - fair enough- but then they're using it as a fire pit afterwards and buying big bags of firewood so sitting there all night having a fire, toasting marshmallows etc. It's really hot at the moment (so I'm not sure why they want to sit by a fire all night anyway) but it means we can't open any of our windows on that side - Including our bedroom. Out bedroom gets so warm I can't sleep without the windows open.

What do people usually do in this situation? I know lots of people have fire pits etc - do they not annoy the neighbours ? WIBU to contact the neighbour to ask them to stop?

I should add I don't begrudge them a bbq for an hour or whatever but wood smoke coming into my house for a few hours afterwards is starting to piss me off.

It sounds like it is way too close to the house for them to be burning wood.

If you don't feel comfortable asking the people hiring the flat, talk to the owner. They might not want it used as a firepit either from a safety point of view.

Good luck

Looks you have rights to complain to them or council

Go and talk to them and explain, they may not realise.
