To ask what the quality of primark kids clothes is really like

I'm not being a snob, I've never had a primark near me. I usually get my boys clothes in the next or h&m sales to keep costs down. I can now get to a primark though, hoorah, and the prices are obviously quite good although compared to sale prices elsewhere only marginally cheaper for things like jeans. Is the quality OK? Do they wash alright? And last?

I find the quality fine, including the £1.80 t shirts, my daughter has some she’s worn pretty much every other day and it’s still been ok to pass on -just don’t tumble dry anything.

Agree sizing can be a bit small.

I found the quality to be sufficiently good to last the one season that my son will wear the clothes before growing out of them. We've had no problem with the cheap t-shirts, haven't noticed shrinkage, and the colours stay bright. I wear their striped long-sleeved t-shirts and those last a couple of years before looking tired.

My DS is tall so they’re no good in terms of leg length, I find H and M have longer legs.

But I’ll be using primark for baby stuff and I do use Primark for Pajamas and summer stuff like shorts because he grows like wildfire in the summer so they last those few months and then go off to someone else

Basic chinos, cargo type shorts and polo tops are fine.

I take a tape measure and check the waist measurements before I buy.

I've found the opposite, my son who's 3 in October can still fit in some 18-24 month clothes as they're massive!
Quality is absolutely fine. Lots says don't tumble dry and I do and they come out good

DD (5) is tall (currently wears 8-9yrs) & was given some leggings from Primark for Christmas. I've found they don't have much crotch/waist band height compared to other brands (usually wears Tu, George, Next, Boden - mostly second-hand). When she wears them the waistband doesn't come up high enough, like they're low-risers!
Got a few baby bits in there when DC we're babies but now don't bother.

I disagree with the people saying the quality is the same as H and M.
It's much poorer. I find H and M better than certainly Primark , supermarkets and next.
Primark is fine until you wash it.
I find the pyjamas are expensive for poor quality the res tis cheap poor quality.
give it a miss. false economy.
It's a busy shop because the clothes don't last.

I strongly disagree the quality is as good as H&M. I've bought H&M for years and never had any quality issues. Whereas I don't shop at Primark often but we get gifted it often by a grandma and there has often been issues. Elastic goes in knickers quickly and they look all out of shape and shabby quickly, most of the socks have hideous glitter/metalic trims that are scratchy and full of threads inside that catch on toes so check inside of socks for those. Kids tights are AWFUL. The elastic goes on them, they shrink, they get holes in the end, they just go all out of shape. Skinny jeans lose their shape and fade, but jegging types have been ok. I've bought joggers there for nursery after not being able to find the right colour anywhere else, and they bobbled really quickly. H&M ones didn't at all. Teen bras get holes in at the seams. T-shirts are really thin.

Fleecy winter pyjamas from baby through to teen onesies are brilliant and last for years and years though. Sometimes they have brushed flannel kids pyjamas that are lovely too.

Our Primark babygros and vests are now onto child #3 - not bad for something that set me back less than a tenner 5 year’s ago,

Sainsburys is the gold standard though; we bought some 2014 stuff off eBay for DS in 2018 and it’s now being handed down - in good condition and not baggy, frayed or bobbly.

It really depends on the item. Not sure about the boys clothes. But had to go last week for my 3 year old DD. DH had a look in the girls section then went to the boys section and got her some pink shorts. The boys clothes are definitely 'made better'. We didn't buy the shorts but bought her leggings and dresses.

The dresses for 3.50 are good. Normally last a season but everything else is a bit hit and miss. I always have to buy a size larger than every other store. Definitely have to say if I bought 5 pairs from primark they'd last a lot less than if I bought 5 pairs from another store. Things either fade or get bobbly.
