We are on our 5th day of 37 degree temperatures with heat indexes well over the 40 degree mark. It's hot,miserable and masks just make it worse....IIts almost 5pm and it's well over 30
Degrees. I think I'm melting.

BTW...Remember when they said that Civic would.be.difficult to.transmit due to warm/ hot.temperatures and it would.start to.die.out...They were so incredibly wrong

I'm in the Middle East and around 44c today. But I sleep better here than I do during a UK heatwave. The aircon makes my bedroom like a fridge. Bliss.

@ByeByeMissAmericanPie I live on the coast in Western Australian. We have a Mediterranean climate which is pretty much perfect for 9 months a year, if you like sunshine. Perth is the sunniest city in the world apparently, and most afternoons we get a strong sea breeze, called the Fremantle Doctor. It's winter now though and has been raining all bloody week, but can't complain really! Grin.

bluetongue · 18/07/2020 02:52

I know how you feel OP.

Summer where I live (Adelaide, Australia) is similar and it wreaks havoc with my mental and physical health. I’m convinced I have Summer SAD. Most years I travel somewhere cooler in summer fo my holidays to escape.

Before Covid I was looking at moving to,Tasmania or New Zealand. Now I have to put up with another summer here Sad It will also be difficult because most of my family is here but I need to try living somewhere different.

eachtigertires · 18/07/2020 03:07

Depends. I am in Ontario and loving the summer weather. Feel like I’m still defrosting from the winter!

froggeralleycat · 18/07/2020 03:41

That's a shame @bluetongue . I'm from Adelaide and I live for the summers. I love hot weather. What about heading somewhere by the sea in SA like the Peninsula or Victor so you get the sea breeze and milder temps?

@alwayscrashinginthesamecar1

I wondered if you were there. I spent a week on a boat in Freo marina having crossed the S Ocean to get there... a few years ago! I have great memories of the place and I thought the Fremantle Doctor was just a perfect antidote to the hotter afternoons! Climate-wise, it would be my number one spot to live!
