To stay in bed all day some days?

When pregnant?

Currently 10 weeks 4 days and my sickness is like a yoyo at the moment. Some days I feel absolutely fine and others I find it hard to move without feeling like I'll throw up all day.

Today is one of those days, I have a splitting headache too which isn't helping. I haven't left my bed today other than to feed the kids and take the dog for a short walk and I feel terrible. The house is a bomb site, the kids have done nothing but play games because I feel unable to do anything else. Just the basics of feeding them had be exhausted before and the poor dog has only been out for 5 minutes.

Did anyone else get this? Am I just being a massive wimp and need to get up and crack on? Or is it acceptable to just wallow for a day every now and then.

DH isn't due back until 5 and I was supposed to go to the shops too before he got back but I think I may have to ask him to go on his way home now too to get them something for tea.

I remember the shattering tiredness of early pregnancy - I'd say give yourself a day off and relax - kids of fed and safe and dog has been walked so you're ok to take a break - mess can be sorted tomorrow and a takeaway treat for tea sounds in order!

Thanks I feel less awful about today's laziness! I did manage to nip to the shop to buy some crappy ready meals for their tea so they've been banged in the oven and I'm back under the duvet!

Early pregnancy and morning sickness are awful and I found it hard to cope some days. You’re not unreasonable to need time in bed.

Have you tried sea sickness bands? They helped me.

Onekidnoclue · 16/07/2020 18:10

Fuck that! No medals for struggling. Stay in bed. Feel better soon. X

It depends how old the kids are really.

Guineapigbridge · 16/07/2020 18:22

Not unreasonable.

Not unreasonable at all. I am 6 weeks and have spent most of the afternoon in bed as I just couldn't face anything.

Pregnancy sickness is horrendous I think on days like tbat I would try and make the effort to go down with the children though, even if you tell them you aren't feeling great and just lie on the sofa. Hopefully you will feel a bit better in the coming weeks Flowers

My pregnancy sickness was so awful I could laid on the floor all day. Do whatever you need to do to get through each day. It's too awful to even describe.

Delbelleber · 19/07/2020 22:25

I spent the majority of my last pregnancy in bed. I felt lethargic and uncomfortable anywhere else.

GoshHashana · 19/07/2020 22:27

Some days in the first trimester I only got out of bed for meals and the loo!

Not at all! If it's helping you to feel better then do
It!

When I was pregnant with DD1 I remember being at work and my eyes rolling back into my head come early afternoon because I was so tired, then I would nap after work and a weekend would be just a constant stream of naps - the exhaustion was horrific! And the sickness was the same! I remember even the thought of the washing machine spinning round would set me off and sleeping was the only way to get rid of the sickness.

I'm 23 weeks with DD2 and thankfully haven't been anywhere near as tired or as sick, but if I had, I would definitely be having duvet days!

Hope you're feeling better soon
