Competing for affection (light hearted)

Lighthearted-

So my day is typically -wake up and stir when alarm clock goes off.

Immediately hit by "kiss me" no "Kiss me" no "kiss me" from 3 boys. All pushing and shoving each other out of the way and all over me. By this point I haven't pressed snooze.

Then when I'm allowed I come downstairs and make a cuppa. Whilst sitting on the sofa trying to drink my tea, there is a massive fight and disagreement over "who sits" next to me. Normally they push and shove and sort it out. Then one of the boys walks along the back of the sofa and places his head on my shoulder and hangs around my neck and one on my feet and another sitting with his head on my lap from the other side. Any movement by me results in a 5-10 minute re-shuffle by them. The main thing is they all went to sit close to me -all have their heads on my lap or shoulder. They are 35 kg each.

If I go to the toilet they compete to lie across the door -so when I come out I trip over them. They can be all asleep on the floor but if one gets up and comes over and gets a pat -they are all suddenly awake and fighting for a pat.

Normally the eldest does win, but all 3 of them -want me. They are suprisingly lovely to each other -normally caught sleeping in a big pile together. I have to be honest -all fighting is "hot air" and funny noises. They do not fight over affection from the children and they will give way to the children. If a cihild wants to sit next to me -they do move but then the whole saga starts again. When giving me a "cuddle" nothing other than the promise of the holy grail of food can move them away from me.

Anyone else have this with their dogs / animals?

No but I have this with my children and exactly as you've described. There's DH on the sofa, stretched out and reading a book in peace while I'm squashed in the armchair with four kids wrapped around me and my cup of tea out of reach.
