To think the doctor is wrong?

I’m 14 weeks postpartum and for about the past four weeks I have developed this pain in my arm, right in the middle in the elbow crease and it shoots down my arm. It’s especially painful if my arm has been bent for a while and it’s so painful to try to stretch it out, and lifting things really hurts. I haven’t injured it and it’s not red, hot, swollen or painful to touch. It’s literally internal. I went to the doctor about it and he said it was most likely my biceps, even though that’s not where the area that hurts is, and that it’s because your tendons get loose after pregnancy, and that I’ve probably injured it from lifting my baby. I’ve never heard of this or of anyone else who has had this though. The pain still hasn’t gone and though it’s bearable it does still hurt and hasn’t eased up at all. Anyone else had this postpartum or even heard of it, or should I go back? I just don’t want to go back and be made to feel like a hypochondriac because I can manage throughout the day with it.

I have had this, although not linked to pregnancy. It's similar to tennis elbow although it's a different tendon involved. It gradually got better with rest and avoiding lifting, especially lifting with out stretched arms.

After every one of my babies my knees were incredibly painful. Every time I bent my knees they really really hurt, and it took some months for them to recover. It was definitely a postpartum thing.

Is it like a pulling in your elbow. If so then yes.

Get a second opinion if you want, but it's likely caused by the increased use from carrying the baby.

It’s common to havethese sorts of problems post birth but if you’re still worried, then absolutely do speak to the doctor and have that conversation with them directly to reassure you. :)
