To call the doctors over vaccine side effects?

DS has his 1 year jabs last Tuesday. He had a temp/fever for the first 2-3 days which we expected because of the men B vaccine. Yesterday he started running a fever. Again looking in his red book it says that this is the MMR vaccine side effect which happens 7-10 days after the vaccine is given.
Yesterday he was sick. We put it down to the fact he ate really quickly then guzzled some water. We then picked him up and carried him upstairs which was when he was sick (not much more a dribble). He had a bottle before bed last night and had yoghurt for breakfast this morning. He then had a small snack at about 11. Normally he sits in his high chair for a bit after his snack but today DP got him straight out and gave him some water and let him toddle about. 10 mins later he has been sick again.
I don't know if this is due to the vaccine or just the eating followed by the water and being allowed to toddle about?
I said that maybe we should call the doctors DP says that as he is perfectly happy and normal in every other way (still eating, drinking, playing, seems happy) that we should treat it as just a side effect and monitor it for a couple more days.
AIBU to call the doctors?

Give them a call. I'm sure they won't mind and it will put your mind at rest. I doubt the vaccine has caused it, but I also don't think it's down to being allowed to walk around after his snack. Probably just a random toddler thing, or a virus.

My son is one and has gone through phases of a few days here and there of sicking up a fair bit and then nothing for ages. So I wouldn’t worry too much and it is probably just coincidental timing. But you can always call the doctor if worried. I clicked on your thread as my DS just had the same jabs and a week later has had a rash develop round the back of his ears and neck. It’s obviously itching him but otherwise hasn’t got worse and, from what I could find online, is a side effect in a v small number of cases. I only mention it because in my research I didn’t see any mention of being sick as a possible side effect. He is our third and our general rule of thumb is that if they seem well in themselves, no temperature and appetite not affected then we don’t worry too much. Babies tend to let you know when they are really not happy.

you can report the side effects yourself.
look up 'yellow card'

You could have phoned the doc quicker than typing your post Grin

@lifesalongsong they're closed until 1:30 for lunch!

Thanks all. He's asking for lunch so we are going to give him a little bit of plain pasta and see what happens

Call away. Ours once got a rash/temp straight after a vaccine and we had to go to ER, turned out to be a virus but the medical staff were completely fine with the visit.

Well done for doing you research and seeing this looks like it is to be expected given the mix of vaccines administered.

I would call. They should be happy to be contacted and it might give you a little peace of mind.

Good luck.
