Should I report weed farm venture?

My son in his mid-20’s spent many years smoking weed at a ‘mate’s house’, where the mother allowed this to go on. I did everything I could to prevent this but was powerless. I feel so sad/angry as my son is now mentally damaged from this.

I now hear that my son is thinking of investing in this mate’s new venture, growing weed on an industrial scale. On so many levels this is wrong and he will do it regardless of what I do or say. He no longer lives at home but obviously I still worry about him and care.

When he was round at this house smoking weed I reported this to the police on several occasions but nothing was ever done, despite obvious dealing activities in various drugs. How would I go about reporting something like this which at the moment is hearsay but will undoubtedly go ahead? I want to be anonymous but don’t know where to go. Is there anyone with experience of this and how the police work if I give them the information?

So am I being unreasonable in wanting to report this?

Hopefully it will absolutely never ever come out that you reported it, and hopefully that won't ever blow back on your son

Is it likely to get off the ground? Part of the reason weed farms are often found is because they require enormous amounts of power to run which is often a tip off unless the owners know how to steal electricity from nearby properties or fiddle meters. Do you think your son and his friend have the criminal enterprise to manage this? It might not even get to that stage if they can't.

Please do report it. Call 101 I assume.

Call Crimestoppers.

the police struggle to close down these places as they are often in a home where the rightful occupant is vulnerable and can't give evidence - it is called 'cuckooing'.

stop wasting time caring about your scum of a son. He's supporting the above, knife crime, gang violence and child exploitation and he is utter, utter filth. Keep yourself safe and cut all contact. Not your fault.

Of course you should report it! It would be awful if you not to.
