Name changed for this. My baby turned one today and when everyone was singing happy birthday to her I had to hold back tears. I can't believe that a year has gone already and nobody seems to understand how I feel

I got very emotional when my PFB turned 1. Didn't care so much about DC2 though even though I love her equally as much!

I don't think that's unusual at all. My baby is a few months younger than yours but I cried when her umbilical stump fell off...it felt like she was all grown up about to leave home Blush while it's amazing to see them grow and learn, it's also sad knowing that you won't get that time back

And then there's her one year needles next week so I know I'm going to be an emotional wreck all over again Sad

I don't think this is at all unusual.

We have a 7 month old boy, we started a little later I'm 44 and my partner was 41 recently, 40 when she gave birth. He'll be our only child.

I played a video of him yesterday at a couple of months old and she burst into tears, I felt it too.
Difficult to explain but yeah they'll only be that age once.

This is why you have to appreciate every moment knowing you cannot stop them growing up.

I definitely understand how you feel.
