To be stupidly excited because I've booked a holiday?

It's only to Scarborough for two nights but my god I'm so excited. It isn't until. September so I have a bit to wait but it's so nice to have something to look forward to!

I don't even care if it rains the whole time! 😄😄😂😂😂

Hope everyone with a holiday booked has or is having a fabulous time. I've never been to Liverpool or Swansea but I've visited Clacton and had fun. Also had some of the best fish and chips ever in Bridlington! Places don't have to be fancy to have good points and be fun 😊😊😊

Honestly I just really need a change of scenery... I've barely been out of my village since March and then only to work or do shopping.

Whitby is interesting, hope you get to visit whilst there.

Longdistance · 12/07/2020 11:12

Aww, lovely. It’s something to look forward to isn’t? Don’t take any notice of anyone pissing on your chips 🙄
We’re Airbnb in Suffolk and Norfolk in August (all being well), then France in October half term (cheap flights and no need to pay until we arrive at the apartment).

QuestionableMouse · 12/07/2020 11:58

I honestly don't care about the grumpy ones. Maybe they need a holiday 🙄😂

Whitby is lovely and I'll be stopping off there on the way home.

(Going to take the longer route because its so much more interesting than the A19/64

I love Scarborough, fond memories of family holidays there and we always took DC once a year when they were little.
Get yourself to Peasholme park for the naval battle, the North Bay for crabbing in rock pools and the Harbour Bar for milk shakes.

I feel like I've been in lockdown for a year because I was diagnosed with breast cancer last July. I had so much travel planned for this year once my treatment was finished. Spain with adult DC, cruise with DH and a trip to Greece.
I have booked two nights in a farm cottage in the North York Moors next week and I couldn't be more excited. well I could but never mind

JADS · 12/07/2020 12:54

We have booked an Airbnb in Weymouth for a week and I am giddy. Granted the SC aspect means that it will be less of a holiday than normal and we will have to spend a day with MIL, but I am honestly so excited.

Have fun OP.

Scarborough was the first place I saw the beach/sea in the UK.

We’re off to the forest of dean in August, its a cottage I’ve been to before, it has a lovely outdoor pool. Can’t wait!

Callardandbowser · 12/07/2020 13:25

YADNBU!
I have booked a few nights on the Isle of Wight and I’m really excited too!
Hope you have a fab time!!

eatsleepread · 12/07/2020 13:26

Enjoy!

Littlepond · 12/07/2020 13:40

I’ve booked a travelodge break next month and I can’t wait

Motoko · 12/07/2020 15:02

It will be great to have a change of scenery. DH and I are going to Swanage in August, staying in a flat right by the sea. It should have been in May, so had to move it, and I can't wait to get down there. Just hoping the weather picks up!

Enjoy your holiday OP!

Gizlotsmum · 12/07/2020 15:06

I am so excited to have started booking days out and things for THIS year rather than everything moving to next.... My mood has been so low this week and getting a bargain night at alton towers has lifted it so much!!

PinkiOcelot · 12/07/2020 15:08

How can 8% of people think OP is unreasonable for being excited about booking a couple of nights away?! Fuck me!!

I was supposed to be flying to Corfu today. Instead I’ve booked a caravan just outside Dumfries for the October half term. I’m looking forward to that. It’s a change of scenery. A trip away.

Some people!!

Laiste · 12/07/2020 15:10

Oh YANBU at all.

We're off to Dorset for a week next week with DD(6) and i'm losing sleep with excitement!

It's a caravan hols and we're taking all our food with us so we wont have to go shopping (much) and are fully expecting to need to avoid the 'big name' beaches and stick with the lesser known bits of the coast. But that's great 'cos we love a bit of rock pooling and walking through the woods. We have a little wall chart and DD is ticking off the sleeps count each day :) :)

loriat · 12/07/2020 15:20

We've booked 2 nights at Margate, I can't wait!

QuestionableMouse · 12/07/2020 16:24

Ooh I'm so excited for all of you with holidays booked.

I'm giddy at the freedom, I think. It feels like forever since I've been able to do anything fun!

@Laiste don't forget to look for fossils!

Leolion09 · 13/07/2020 09:32

@QuestionableMouse enjoy your time away! We are also looking at somewhere away, anywhere! Different four walls would be great Grin

QuestionableMouse · 13/07/2020 11:23

Thank you! I honestly can't wait! 😊😊😊
