About half the washing being done?

Wash needed putting on and DH got there before me. Great I think. But he has only put about half of the stuff in so I am now washing the other half, which consists almost entirely of my clothes.

He knows we have a large machine, and presumably also has some understanding that it is worse for the environment/annoying/more work to have do do 2 washes instead of 1.

AIBU to think it’s not much point and not helpful to do half the wash or should I be grateful that he made some effort?

Because I’m not grateful and I’m wondering if I’m the one with the problem.

Yes IAU

No IANU

What is it with men and half things. My DH always has to leave something in drainer if puts drying up away.If he gets washing out machine if i ask he will leave some stuff !

Mine did something a bit like this once. I'd done the laundry and hung it out to dry and he decided to "help" by bringing it in later, but only brought his own things in. Rest assured he only did this once after I'd had words.

I have the opposite problem.

My OH will leave all of his stuff and try and do it all in one HUGE load. It enrages me.

Notajogger · 11/07/2020 13:53

What an idiot. Filter out his washing from now on, wait till you've got enough for a load of your own stuff and only do that. See how his argument fits in when it's the other way around!

No one should be grateful for a partner doing washing.
That’s ridiculous.
But that said, without seeing the pile of laundry versus your washing machine size cannot possibly know who is BU.
Id simply take a closer look. Did he divide darks from lights? Cottons from delicates? He has to have had some rationale. If it’s his vs yours, then that’s BU.

A ‘good thing’ is him doing his own washing? Hmm
