My NDN are genuinely lovely people, slightly older than us but genuinely lovely. Their 6 kids on the other hand (age range 16-27) are all a complete bunch of selfish, lazy entitled kbs and apart from eldest daughter ALL still live at home and only 2 of them work (pandemic aside) Dad works shifts and has a bad heart, Mum has 3 p/t jobs and is constantly ferrying the children round and about.
So, eldest daughter got married 2 years ago, to another entitled spoilt k
bhead and moved out. But ever since covid have been at NDN house EVERY day throughout the lockdown as they dont have a garden. While that has thoroughly boiled my wee wee, not my business.
What is my business is the daughters bloody puppy seems to have moved in full time... and it barks constantly. Constantly. At everything. My children have stopped playing in the garden because of the noise, we've stopped leaving the back door open, closing windows etc, which given warm the weather has been horrid.

I would really hate to fall out over anything as they are lovely, so don't really know what to do other than passive aggressively slamming windows and glaring at their daughter in the street. How do I broach it?

You'll have to call in and have a word with the parents I think, being direct is better than being passive aggressive

maddening · 10/07/2020 16:44

I am trying to think which swear word k**bs is?

maddening · 10/07/2020 16:45

Ah knobs 🤣 sorry it is late on a Friday and my head is battered from work thinking 😩

Ishihtzuknot · 10/07/2020 17:04

Since having to put up with this nonsense from my neighbours I urge you to speak to them now before it gets out of hand. Just a polite ‘hi how is puppy training going’ so it doesn’t make things awkward but brings up the subject that you can hear it. Offer some advice and what they can do to make it easier for you. Puppies do bark but a good owner will train them and it won’t be constant. It shouldn’t ever affect a neighbour if cared for correctly. If they’re unwilling to work with you then keep a noise diary. Dog whistles can sometimes help too. It’s awful to live with and I completely get where you’re coming from, we can hear our ndn dog from the end of the road and clearly through the walls all day and night. I don’t speak to them anymore because of the resentment, I wish I had spoken to them civilly at the beginning to avoid all this.

HavingAMoan · 10/07/2020 17:06

You can swear, it’s allowed. Is knobhead even swearing?

WorraLiberty · 10/07/2020 17:08

How do I broach it?

Like an adult with a voice.

I'm not sure why the whole family history was necessary.

The dog's making a lot of noise, so knock and ask if there's anything they can do to stop it.

I can empathise here - when I first read it I thought of kebabs (who knows?!) and was very confused by the insult 😂
PennyWishes1 · 10/07/2020 17:20

I actually thought Kebabs aswell....Grin
Thought maybe it was a regional thingBlush

I would speak to the mum/dad and ask them is there anyway of calming the puppy.

Mummycar · 10/07/2020 17:37

I think I gave history for context, as it's not even their bloody dog. They do have a older dog, who seemingly has been shut in the house to accommodate irritating knobdog - now I know I can swear I shall Wink
