How do I get rid of these stupid annoying little twats!! Our drain is part of the house, when previous owners did extension they didn't move it.

anyways when we first moved here. We had no issues. In the last month we've had these drain flies, and they are now literally everywhere!! At first it was only in the area where the drain is. Would find them dead on the window sill.

How do I get rid of them!!??? Please some one tell me how. Will they go once the weather gets colder??

Bleach down the plugholes and the overflow outlets of the sinks and baths. You can also get a plumber in to pump your pipes out, in case residue has built up.

As above, bleach and keep the plug in your sink at night time. They're horrible little things.

But they are not coming from the sink plug hole?? Or are they? What does the bleach do, kill them, how often would I need to put bleach down

You need to get rid of the blockage (aka gunge) that’s down the plug hole. That’s what they feed on and once it’s gone I found they disappeared.

Put some apple cider vinegar in a cup with a paper cone on top. Cut an opening at the bottom of the cone so they fly down into the cup and can't get out. It works a treat.

Malt vinegar.

Fill a bowl with malt vinegar, cover with cling film and poke full of holes with a fork.

Leave it near the source and it will be FULL of them, it’s by far the best fly catcher ever.
