to take a toddler to Peppa Pig world?

It's about 4 hours away from us but we have family we can stay with. It'll be in September so he will only be 21 months old. Has anyone been before? Is it worth the trip? As far as I can tell he would be able to go on most of the rides. He loves Peppa and 'Pappa' is one of the few words he says.

Would be nice to hear from people who have actually been there before...

Thanks :)

We took our daughter when she was 2 and she had a lovely time!. All the rides are pretty gentle. They have several of the little ride on machines dotted about which are all free to use which makes a refreshing change!

There is a splash about bit so you might want to take a change of clothes and a towel.

It gets very busy during summer holidays but is pretty quiet during school days.

Hope you have a lovely time if you go.

PPW and the rest of Paulton's is lovely.
We had season tickets from about age 2.5 upwards, and that was before PPW which has some lovely rides for little ones.

He will get in for free, but you might want to consider waiting until next spring when he'll be a bit older as you all might find it more enjoyable then?

If you were staying with family you could do Longdown Activity Farm the next day.

One of my fav places to take the little ones (they’re all too old now), it’s also reasonable prices and so many rides they can go on. Fab day out, enjoy

Justanothernameonthepage · 06/07/2020 10:23

It's my 3yo's favourite place in the world, during lockdown she would pretend play going to Peppa pig world. We've season tickets and she adored it from age 2.

We have been taking our DC since they were very little, as we live locally, and they have always loved it! He might be too young to remember it, but he will still love it! It’s so lovely, and such a magical place. The rides are pretty gentle, but perfect for a bit of excitement for that age!

NeutralJanet · 06/07/2020 10:25

Never been to Peppa world but we took DD to Cbeebies land at Alton Towers at a similar age and she loved it.

PumpkinP · 06/07/2020 10:27

Would love to take mine but live in London so will be really far as I don’t drive. Not sure if it’s worth it?!

SunInTheSkyYouKnowHowIFeel · 06/07/2020 10:31

I think you'll have a great time. Most of the Peppa Pig world rides are ok for his age, and also don't forget the rest of the park which has a few other rides he can go on (Dinosaur Jeep ride, sealions, and digger ride off the top of my head).

As people have said, next year he might remember it more, but you'll still have a nice time. Also perhaps less queues this year if they are limiting numbers?

There is also an indoor soft play and 2 splash parks which are great but guess depends if the rules change by September.

Also, I know you said you have friends to stay with, but they do sometimes have special offers with local hotels and a 2 day park ticket if that interests you.

You could also look at Finkley Down Farm if thats on your route back.

It is a lovely theme park. Incredibly clean and everyone who works there is really friendly and helpful (unlike other theme parks). There are also some kid friendly rides in Paultons park next door. Took both my kids when they were around 3. Was intending to return this spring as my DD loved it so much but sadly we were thwarted by lockdown. Would 100% recommend it though.

Oysterbabe · 06/07/2020 10:39

Of course Yanbu, it's for toddlers.

TeenPlusTwenties · 06/07/2020 10:41

in Paultons park next door

To clarify, PPW is inside the larger Paulton's Park.
It isn't really 'next door'. Once you are in the main park, you have access to everything.

we went when the eldest was 2.5yo and went on a day trip from London... train and then a cab... wasn't too bad
Weepingwillows12 · 06/07/2020 10:49

There are loads of easy rides for little kids. Tractor ride was good for my obsessed toddler.

It’s saying from Waterloo need to get 2 trains then a bus! Looks like a long one, might give it a miss always wanted to take mine but abit difficult when you don’t drive.

We took DD for her second birthday. She had a lovely time (with the occasional tantrum due to standing in queues). It's a lovely theme park definitely the cleanest one I've been to in the UK. Hope to go back again in the not too distant future.

Dhalandchips · 06/07/2020 11:00

I love that there's a hot dog stand there Grin (perverse sense of humour!)

Sunnydaysrock · 06/07/2020 11:03

We had a golden ticket to go when it was brand new and not open to the public. Took DS for his birthday. It is literally made for toddlers. Not sure how it has weathered since it opened but Paultons is a great park and well looked after in general.

Cutesbabasmummy · 06/07/2020 11:21

It's fantastic and so clean and well kept..we took my son last summer when he was 4 and we had a wonderful day.

mintich · 06/07/2020 11:26

I took my daughter for her 2nd birthday and she loved it! I definitely recommend! My friend has just been too and said they are being vigilant with social distancing, hygiene etc so she felt at ease being there.

AnnPerkins · 06/07/2020 11:28

We went for the day during a week's camping holiday in the New Forest. It was great but the queues were very long, the best part of the day was after 3pm when many families had left.

When I'm in charge my first command will be to stop multiple adults going on young children's rides. Queues would be much shorter and more manageable for toddlers if there weren't two parents and two grandparents for every 2 year old on every ride.

Ishihtzuknot · 06/07/2020 11:28

It’s the perfect place for toddlers, we went every year from my eldest’s first birthday to youngest at age 6 and they’ve always had a great time.

Vanillaradio · 06/07/2020 11:53

Ds had just turned 3 when we went. He absolutely loved it- talked about it for about a year after and still likes looking at the pictures (age 6 and a bit over Peppa!)
There are plenty of rides for little ones- he'll be able to go on a lot- ds also got to meet Peppa and George and was awestruck!
Definitely try some of the rides in the wider park too- we went on the dinosaur jeep 3 times in a row!!

mindutopia · 06/07/2020 12:05

If it's not in school holidays (and it's actually open, COVID and all), and you can stay for free with family, yes, it's fine for a day out. I can't quite fathom people coming all that way to pay to stay overnight in a hotel or campsite for the weekend. It's not all that great, but if all you are paying for is to get in the door and some food (though would recommend you pack lunch), then it's fine. I would just make sure he can actually go on the rides. There are usually height restrictions to get on each of the rides with an adult and without. He'll, of course, be too little ride without you, but definitely make sure he is able to go with you. Otherwise, it's an expensive day out for not much. Peppa Pig World itself is quite small, so you want to actually make the most of being able to go on things. Definitely do not go on school holidays though - it's hell.
