What the heck is this all about.

So I keep receiving invitations to online 'parties' and invites to join Younique and Scentsy from people who have these awful pretentious slogans attached to their FB saying they are

Inspiring People To Be The Best
Version Of Themself
- what by selling people poxy stinky wax things and make up...... seriously do people actually buy into this crap?

Isn't this just another MLM thing .... heck there were loads of these in the 80's.... fortunately I haven't seen any for years and now all of a sudden there are numerous people trying to 'inspire me' - save me from the wax scent sellers and make up brigade

YABU - they really are inspiring people

YANBU ---- it's crap marketing to suggest selling OVERPRICED pongy scents inspire

Blergh, hate it. Luckily I'm not on social media much so I don't have to see it anymore. But this reminded me of when I first went to see a chiropractor years ago as I was desperate with crippling back pain, and after the initial assessment the chiropractor said something about making a plan to "become the best possible you" whilst showing me a poster with the same slogan and some complicated payment plans. It sounded ridiculous and I immediately lost interest. Hmm I know it wasn't an MLM but it sounded silly. Although I did see the chiro for a couple of months because I wanted to see if the treatment worked for me. It didn't. (Not bashing chiropractic here - I've heard it works for lots of people but my experience wasn't brilliant.)

I thought I would have a quick look and 100% seem to think it's crap marketing, overpriced smelly or other things and it's not inspiring anyone to be their best version of theirself.....

I wish people would stop joining up and spamming their friends and family then..

Interesting that not one person has come on here and said how great it is.... probably realised they have been conned

Is anyone familiar with ‘Glisten and Glow’ wax melts etc? They seem to be part of the ‘Scentsy’ empire.

A friend is selling them, but I cannot see how this can possibly make her any money.

What is particularly strange is that many scents are described as ‘like Lenor’ or Zoflora. Confused

Is it another MLM scheme?

BrightYellowDaffodil · 06/07/2020 12:39

I was so hoping that this was going to be a MLM Hun Bot hoping to tout their wares, and getting their arse handed to them by MNers. I'm all disappointed now.

DemelzaRobins · 06/07/2020 13:04

Loads of my facebook friends have joined MLM schemes in the last couple of months - Avon, Body Shop, Ann Summers and some kids book thing.

I had a younique one a while ago, and one selling something I can't remember but they both gave it up ages ago.

@BrightYellowDaffodil

I'm so sorry.....no popcorn today!

I have not been approached by these sort of people for many years so was surprised when I had a flurry of them...they must be scrapping the barrel with me though and already worked through their family and friends since I wouldn't buy any of this overpriced tat....

@TrickyD

It was a scentsy one that approached me..... DIRECTOR level --- no idea what that means though - they perhaps sold a couple the wax strip things each week or conned a dozen 'friends' and family to sign up to join their business empire no doubt

Resume, it is hard to understand how anyone can sell enough Lenor flavoured melts to reach Director level, whatever captain of industry rôle that may be. Lance Corporal more like.

Sorry Huns, late to this thread. If you loathe MLM you’ll appreciate this documentary Secrets of the Multi-Level Millionaires: Ellie Undercover, Secrets of the Multi-Level Millionaires: Ellie Undercover: www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p076n2hg via @bbciplayer
I like to share it on every hun oriented thread. It has definitely made a few people think about who is really profiting.
