Or over their mouths but not their noses.

Why, just why?

I read somewhere (this is a bit crude) that it was about as much use as wearing a condom over your testicles.

Because they've been told they have to, but don't want to.

Genuinely horrified at someone saying they've seen people taking them off to sneeze.

Look at all of those pictures online of people out drinking. Nearly all don't have masks on. It's kind of pointless bothering.

@BananaChocolateLump Face masks don't bloody do anything any way.
??? There are multiple studies saying they do, from experiments with them, and multiple evidence sources from countries that have used masks reducing their infection rates. I don't understand why you would say this. Do you think all these researchers and reporters are just making up data and findings? Honestly?

I understand all the reasons like "walking between the shop and the car" etc, getting it ready to pull up, getting a breath when it makes you hot, but what I don't get is the people who stand right in front of someone who is wearing a mask, as required (e.g. in the supermarket), and talking loudly with the mask cradling their chin. It's as if they're ready to claim they're doing what they're supposed to be doing (wearing a mask) without actually doing it (wearing it properly).

Thanks to the PP who pointed us to the youtube saying over the mouth (but not the nose) is better than nothing.
