Someone gave me baby clothes as a wedding gift.
I wasn't pregnant. I didn't have any DC.

I didn't have DC till many years later.

Waaaay back as a girl, with 3 brothers and sisters, our nan got us a £2 Bejam frozen food company gift voucher. Between us. For Christmas.
Cue much fun over the holidays saying, mmm these peas are lovely.
Still makes me smileGrin

I work as a pet sitter and one of my clients gave me a bag of trainers for my teenager, She boasted that they were expensive, designer brands - well, whether they were or not was irrelevant as they were manly, well worn and covered in mud and stinking dog shit.

They went into the nearest public bin.

My Nan was notorious for buying my sister and I shitty gifts, re-gifting whatever my mum picked up for her to my brother, and spending quite a lot on the other cousins (or giving them cash).

It’s become a joke now, I’d rather she didn’t spend her money on or give me crap she’s found around the house - half empty gloopy nail polish, a book from the market stall so old it was priced pre-decimalisation and other crap like that. It’s quite clear my dad is the least favoured child of hers.

I can’t tell the worst gift because it was to my sister and would immediately out me to family if any of them are on here!

This is the gift my parents gave DH for Christmas years ago.

This post is hilarious!

My nan (who always made it very obvious she didn’t like me) went away on holiday once, bought back my sister a sylvanian families set, my brother a remote control car, and bought me back a fossil the size of a 5 pence piece. Talk about mean! I’d have only been about 7/8 at the time.

My mum felt sorry for me and took me to get a new toy, bless her.

My husband's nan always gifts odd things. A girls jumper for my 1 year old son, girls socks for my eldest son one year, random tat for me at Christmas. Looks like she just picks things up from around the house for me and thinks that will do. Honestly I would rather have nothing it's just insulting. What hurts though is my husband in the 16 years of us being together has never bought gifts for his family, it's always me. One year I had a Poundland kind of pop up laundry basket.
