PMSL Suebaroo
Yes, now I think about it those pigeons had their feathers fluffed very highly and landed on the sticky roof with some purpose. Well maybe not the first one but the others that landed afterwards must have know what they were letting themselves in for
They were bloody noisy about too...

And to think I was going to post "stamp on it's head until it is dead!"

We came across an injured pheasant in the road once. I got out and looked at it, it was pretty far gone, no saving it, but it was still moving it's head. So I consulted with dh and we decided to run over it to finish it off. So he reversed back to where it was whilst I distracted the kids, then he drove forward again and asked if he'd got it. I got out to look and there, across the road watching, was our next door neighbour! It took some explaining I can tell you!

EmsMum · 26/09/2007 21:44

poor ole pigeon. But to balance it out, at least the dog enjoyed his task.

Someone else was asking about getting rid of mice. Is that OK by you?

And then theres all the ladies trying to get to grips with cleaning who are bound to be hoovering up live as well as dead woodlice.

And please spare a thought for the poor defenceless headlice.

Its pure carnage.

LittleBella · 26/09/2007 21:48

I once found a dead blackbird in my garden, which had scarey starey eyes and sharp little beak and upturned talons.

It was really nasty, I had to gingerly pick it up and put it in the bin. Oh, the horror.

pyjamaqueen · 26/09/2007 21:49

Oh, I thought this thread would be about those horrible adverts about animal cruelty, which aren't what I really want to see when I'm on here (eg bears/dogs).

litlebella i am in awe that you picked a dead bird up! had dead mouse in back garden, dh called an employee to move it.

vacua · 27/09/2007 13:34

I abu then, I thought I was a bit but I know my cruel/not cruel boundaries are pretty arbitrary. I think headlice and houseflies are fair game but not wasps, bees, spiders, snails or slugs or indeed much else. Fox hunting is pretty unpleasant for the fox but nicer than traps and very exciting to watch. I don't think it's wrong to eat meat but I'm not very good at it myself.

Actually, if you want to be pedantic about it, birds don't do it doggy style. Doggy style starts of in the 'traditionally' thought of position of one on top of the other's back, and then they move so they are facing away from each other while still (ahem) attached.

Birds jump on the other ones back, the top one curls their tail round the others arse and humps away.
I know this as my lovebirds are at it behind me as we speak.....
