Am planning on going into town tomorrow to return somethinf and hopefully get some bits for my son (he isn't coming). What's it really like now? Are the queues really as horrendous as made out for primark, h&m, tiger tiger...

*Cold

ColdNovemberRain* that's good that they did that. I have been in both Gap and H&M and neither of them had extra staff to help with the queues, despite seeing lots of staff on the shop floor. So you end up with a queue of people snaking around the store waiting to be served. As well as social distancing, surely it's just as important to get people served and out of the store quickly.

I went last weekend and it was absolutely fine. Only one place was busy enough to require a queue and barely anyone wore masks.

Where has this "manning" come from - surely it should be "staffing" as most of the people doing it will be women.

I used to work in a TV rental company in the 80's and our area manager would insist on saying manning the till, manning the stock etc when the only staff in the shop were woman.

Thought we had come along way from sexist attitudes.
