Should I get my dishwasher repaired - corona risk?

Background: I'm pregnant and high risk, told to limit social interactions to bare minimum due to covid, toddler out of nursery and won't be going back unless advice changes etc.

The dishwasher has broken! Husband and I are battling working from home with no childcare, my nightmare pregnancy, a bunch of other stuff to do with his work. We're already a bit on the cusp. Going for months without a dishwasher feels unfeasible! (I know; absolute middle class problems...)

BUT getting a repair person in feels like an extra risk. We haven't even seen my parents yet (but will bubble with only them from this weekend; they are also seeing nobody else).

Husband thinks we need to just get it done. I'm not sure.

What would you do?

I would ask for local recommendation and find someone you can trust. Explain your are shielding and high risk
Clear the worktops from absolutely everything.
Leave your DH deal with the repair man - he just needs to be alone in the kitchen to fix the appliance, hardly a risk.
Clean and disinfect everything he has touched which won't take you any time.
Wash your hands.

That's what I would do.

Ours stopped working a few weeks ago. I am not shielding but was still hesitant but didn't fancy managing without one so called a guy we had used previously. Did as poster above suggested, removed everything from around and on top of the counter by the machine, opened the window, stood well back and wiped everything down with soapy water and then bleach afterwards and it was fine, definitely glad we did it as no end in sight when it will be completely safe.
