Is what I am doing illegal? Lockdown/fire/socialising related

I live in central London (Marylebone). I live in a ground floor flat and have a very small garden surrounded by other gardens of houses along the street both in front and behind. There are also three stories of flats above me overlooking my garden.

I am planning on seeing three friends to socially distance in my garden on Friday evening this week and I have bought a small fire pit in which I’d like to light a fire to keep us warm if it’s a bit chilly. We might toast marshmallows on it.

Are my neighbours going to report me? Am I breaking any laws?

No laws broken.
Sounds lush. Can I come?

Some garden centres are selling bags of large marshmallow at half price at the moment.

I'm in. Address please, I'll bring drinks and snacks. In all seriousness, I've done the same with 3 friends in my garden a few of times recently. The fire pit was definitely needed to keep us warm. We all sit in each corner of my decking, more than 2m apart. My downstairs loo is right inside the back door, antibacterial wipes, disposable hand towels and anti bac spray is all set out. Normally we'd meet down the pub, but a fire pit in my garden is our new norm. Everyone brings their own drinks and snacks, it's fun and it's cheaper than the pub. I think I actually prefer this to the pub.

My friends and I are doing similar Saturday nights. Small terrace garden with a fire pit. A couple if glasses of wine, outside with a good distance between us. It's been lovely to see them again and its evening so no one has washing out and we're not directly under anyone's window or anything so I don't think we're bothering anyone

I reckon sales of fire pits are rocketing.

Just make sure you get some good quality stuff for burning, or you’ll end up sitting in a cloud of smoke, not to mention your neighbours will hate you. Fire pits doh d lovely and romantic, but are more often than not, just stinky polluters. Put your seats out before your friends cone, so no one is tempted to get too close to the iyhtwr guests. Other than that enjoy yourself.

Up to 6 people from different households in a garden or outdoor space is all within the rules, you’re fine. I doubt your neighbors will bat an eyelid unless you’re particularly loud and go on until quite late.

If you must burn something, please make it not a solid fuel (e.g. bioethanol). Smoke is evil.

I thought most local authorities had asked people not to light outdoor fires as the smoke is disturbing to those with respiratory illnesses, asthma, etc.
