Kitchen Reno price, does this sound right?

I just want to know if this pricing sounds right
We've just been quoted £12k
We are looking to get our kitchen done, the size is 4.6x2.4m approx

The pricing includes:
Stripping down the wood panelling in the kitchen walls
Stripping out the kitchen(although there is no kitchen there at the moment, it's just a sink area that will be stripped out)
Stripping down the ceiling
Plastering walls/ceiling
6 spot lights
Electrical wiring in the kitchen
Standard Sockets
Blocking off one entrance door
Replacing a window(it's not a outside window so aren't looking at anything too expensive)
Supply and fit a upvc door(that's actually not what I want, I want a normal wooden internal door,
Fit new kitchen supplied by customer

I thought it included flooring too but the plan we've been given doesn't mention the flooring so I guess tHts not included in the price

All of that for £12k, it doesn't include kitchen, we have to provide the kitchen.
Does that sound right?

I feel like it's a lot especially now that it doesn't include the floor tiles or the fitting of the tiles.

I suppose there are lots of variables so it can be wildly different.

However, I had a kitchen fire recently consisting of..

Knocking down the wall between kitchen and utility
New back door
All plastering to make walls good
All electrical sockets and spotlights
Laying new flooring
Fitting kitchen
Tiling
Marble windowsills
All decorating
Included new kitchen (15 units) and fitting
Included all new appliances - microwave, fridge/freezer, hob, double oven, dishwasher - all integrated.

And it cost me 10.5k

nokidshere · 30/06/2020 12:47

Obviously not a kitchen fire Hmm a refurb

nokidshere · 30/06/2020 12:49

Sorry, meant to say that the kitchen is approx 4mx3m and the only thing we paid for on top of that were the splash back tiles which we bought locally

sierra2020 · 30/06/2020 12:52

Wow see that sounds so much more reasonable, with the kitchen included!

We paid 10k for a new kitchen same details as yours pretty much but slightly bigger, kitchen included

We knocked through into a back room. Total cost including the kitchen (with a quartz work surface), a new kitchen window flooring which we carried through into our dining room, all appliances and painting cost around 14k. It’s a decent sized space now. Cost another £600 to re-site the washing machine.

So 12k with no actual kitchen sounds a lot to me!

That sounds really expensive if it doesn't include the units or floor. My parents had a new wren kitchen, included all units top and bottom (and there were a lot of them!), integrated dishwasher and fridge, double oven, tiles etc, plus dismantling and disposing of the old kitchen and it cost them around 15k I think. So your 12k for just the prep works sounds very high.
