AIBU to not understand what ‘overnight’ means

Apologies for maybe being a bit dense but when the government refers to an overnight stay - does that literally mean one night or as many nights as you like?! Just debating whether or not to visit relatives for a few days.

Means 1 night.

It means you cannot sleep/stay the night anywhere else except your usual place of residence.

From July 4th in England you can visit other places and stay overnight. This means as many nights as you like, hence the opening of campsites, self-catering cottages etc.

It means you can sleep in someone else’s house overnight. There is no limit on the number of overnight stays, so you can stay a few days with relatives.
