To think I’m going to have to starve myself to lose the last half a pound?

I changed my diet to plant based about 3 months ago, cut out crap and eat really well. As a result I have lost 1 and a half stone. I would like to lose another half to be at my ideal weight but I don’t know how to dontjis without starving myself!!.... Plus if I did do this then surely it would just add back on when I go back to eating?

Do I need to just accept that this is the lowest my body can healthily go?

Well done on losing a stone and half - that’s amazing progress!

What happens when you lose mass is that you need to take on less calories the less and less you weigh of course ( exclaimer - I am talking about regular people NOT those who weight train or have different fitness goals to losing weight).
So your body needs less and less calories now, what you need to do is continue to eat in a calorie deficit.
The easiest way to do this is to track your current maintenance calorie level, if you’re not losing but not gaining then you’re in a good maintenance position! Do a week or even two of tracking your calories then when you are ready, create a small deficit. Just 100/150 cals.
Be consistent, you need to have this deficit consistently.
It’s that simple. If you are not losing weight it is because you are not in a prolonged deficit over time. (If you eat healthy 5 days a week but snack and treat more at a weekend then again, you’re probably not in an overall deficit)

Exercise is great for you, weight training especially. But you burn most of your cals just by living. So upping your general activity levels is just as effective as going to the gym - when you talk about calories (not general fitness goals).

The most important thing is a calorie deficit and as youve realised, plant based isn’t a guaranteed healthy diet, it can still be full of artificial crap and calories the same as any other.
