Tinnitus

Does anyone have any tips for relieving tinnitus. I have had a ringing sound in my left ear for the last few weeks. I have no idea what could have caused it except I do listen to movies with earphones at night. Could this have been the cause? It’s driving me crazy and I can’t seem to relieve it :-( any advice or other people’s experience would be helpful

My heart goes out to you. I don't have tinnitus, but I have oversensitive hearing and can hear practically everything : the wind blowing, cars going past the house, everything.

Drives me crazy.

I saw my mum a couple of days ago, for the first time in 5 months, and she says she has exactly the same thing that drives her crazy too.

I'm taking zinc and copper for a bunch of related issues, tinnitus is one of them and it has got better, a quick Google says that it is a research finding that zinc helps some tinnitus.

My dad had it for about a year and found it incredibly distressing. He just couldn't ignore it. He got to a point where he couldn't even bare to go into the kitchen because of the noise of the extractor fan on the oven.
But then, after about a year, it just suddenly stopped. Just, out of no-where. No one ever really got to the bottom of what caused it, or why it stopped.

@Ggina55 did your tinnitus go away?

@Mehripoop no I still have it. I’m not sure if it’s any better or whether I’ve just got more used to it but it is definitely still there and if I wake during the night it’s more obvious.

What was the out cone of MRI? I waiting for my MRI scan. I have it in one ear too.

I didn’t go for an mri scan! I still have it but I’m a bit more used to it now.

@SerenDippitty hi! How long did ur tinnutis last on the citalopram? I was taking nortriptyline and ive now stopped it for over a week! Ringing still there x
