Do you think school should re open?

OP posts:
SachaStark · 22/06/2020 15:41

... What the heck does any of that have to do with education?

noblegiraffe · 22/06/2020 15:42

If the kids are up to no good then isn’t that for the police or parents to deal with? Confused

DioneTheDiabolist · 22/06/2020 15:45

They're working on it OP which I'm sure you understand is difficult. After all if parents cannot enforce social distancing with their own children, it going to take schools a while to work out how to do it with hundreds of children.

947EliseChalotte · 22/06/2020 15:45

Because they should be in school having an education.

I’m very much not ‘down with the kids’ but don’t they vape these days?

PatriciaHolm · 22/06/2020 15:49

Many of them wouldn't be in school anyway as year 11 and 13 are all done.....

Waxonwaxoff0 · 22/06/2020 15:50

I think school should reopen anyway but not necessarily because of this.

ClosedDoors · 22/06/2020 15:51

Yawn.

Dylaninthemovies1 · 22/06/2020 15:51

Must be where you are. I’m in Scotland and apart from key workers children, no children are in school. And I’m yet to see any gangs of school aged kids hanging about (even just chatting nevermind smoking or drinking). Mostly see groups of young adults (looking uni aged) sitting in the parks in groups (but all sitting socially distanced)

noblegiraffe · 22/06/2020 15:53

Lots of people should be doing various things that they’re not but there’s a global pandemic on so things are a bit different.

They shouldn’t be hanging around having parties and not social distancing but they also shouldn’t be in school because it’s not open to them due to aforementioned pandemic. So the police or parents are your port of call here.

Tianalia · 22/06/2020 15:53

I'm not fussed what they do as long as they behave themselves and clear up their mess. At least they're out socialising properly instead of stuck on social media. Didn't you ever do this op?

ghostyslovesheets · 22/06/2020 15:53

yabu - how is that schools fault or responsibility?

plominoagain · 22/06/2020 15:55

Blimey . Better have schools open 24/7 then , because they’re going to do all of that not between the hours of 9 and 3 too .

Better yet , send them away at 8 , and let them home when they’re 18. Sorted .

SachaStark · 22/06/2020 15:56

Fucking teachers, too lazy to drive ‘round all day to assess what each individual pupil is up to out on the streets!

... And I bet they and all the TAs have also all been drinking and smoking and having parties in gardens all day, too!

ramblingmum · 22/06/2020 16:24

I have see groups of teenagers meeting up in groups round here. I'm think that there are less about in the evenings and weekends than normal but they are noticeable as less other people are out. also they are out all day. I have not seen any bad behaviour apart from a lack of social distancing. I'm not surprised, how many of us as teenagers would of sat at home on our own studying for weeks without close supervision. Many parents will be trying to work from home and more will be going back to work now.
I think the alternative would be then meeting up at home when parents are out or hiding away in their rooms on the internet while their mental health deteriorates.
