The closest shopping City to me is 25 mins by train.
I'm itching to go.
I don't drive so would have to go via train.
Aibu to do this?
I was going to do this morning but changed my mind.
I'm really unsure

I didn’t think they were allowing people into stations, let alone onto trains, without masks. I imagine train staff have got quite enough to deal with without accosting someone with a few carrier bags for making a “non essential” journey.

Go for it!

Not sure if anyone's from Newcastle area but it's actually the metro I would be using not big network train if that makes sense.
I know northern are saying "essential only "
Not sure about the metro tho.

I’ve seen people get on board with masks on, but then immediately take them off or pull them down

I think leisure travellers are obvious if people are carrying shopping bags from non essential retailers

Not necessarily - I work in a supermarket on a retail park. Some non essential stores opened up last week so I went to work early and did some non essential shopping - by which I mean I need new underwear/basics but I'm not at desperation levels just yet so could have waited a little longer if necessary. Anyone seeing me on my way home from work might assume I had just been shopping since I change out of my uniform at work and am carrying a shopping bag but I had actually just finished an 8hr shift at work. Just because someone is carrying shopping bags means nothing

And that isn’t a problem if they’re nowhere near anyone else.
Browzingss · 22/06/2020 19:32

If they weren’t near anyone else, I wouldn’t have noticed.

Alsohuman · 22/06/2020 19:37

I’d notice a hell of a lot further away than two metres. You’re just hellbent on being right.

Oh bore off, I don’t give a shit about your opinion. How are you trying to tell me my own experiences are wrong, were you there? I have even seen complaints re the same on said operator’s Twitter.
