Can I ask if it’s ok to sleep in a newly decorated room?

DH is painting our bedroom. It’s a dulux low voc paint. Can I sleep in the room tonight with windows open or should I sleep in the living room tonight?

It wouldn't cross my mind not to.

Sleep in the room - if you’ve used gloss paint then that’s the one that smells strongest but you’ll be fine with the windows open.

Mojitomogul · 22/06/2020 10:49

See how its smelling this evening? If you do definitely sleep with windows open. I don't think it's great to breathe in but it won't harm you?

JaniceWebster · 22/06/2020 10:53

I wouldn't. I leave more than a night, and even more when it's my kids bedroom.

Somethingsosimple · 22/06/2020 11:13

Thanks for replies. I was leave kids rooms empty but was wondering if I am being over the top. Will see how it smells later

Like @ohoneohtwo, it wouldn't occur to me not to, even when I've been painting late into the evening.

@BrightYellowDaffodil

Like *@ohoneohtwo*, it wouldn't occur to me not to, even when I've been painting late into the evening.
Same.

Of course it's ok.
Put a bucket of cold water in the room and open a window.
The water absorbs the odour.
Or you can use it to cool amorous wandering hands.

not sure why you would willingly expose yourself to more chemicals and sleep in a freshly painted room
