Advice on stopping taking the pill

I've been on the pill for 3 years. Due to existing health conditions it isn't the ideal form of contraception for me but practically it works for me. But dp and I dtd so irregularly that it seems pointless to be on it! It's maybe once a month at most. And without going into too much detail, he often finishes...ahem...elsewhere.

I guess what I'm saying is that it feels unnecessary to pump my body full of hormones and increase health risks when I'm 95% sure I wouldn't fall pregnant anyway. Of course I realise there is a risk but it wouldn't be a disaster if we did fall pregnant, already have kids and we are financially stable. We don't want to actively try but it would be manageable if we did.

I've also used natural family planning with success in the past as I had a very regular cycle and clear signs I was ovulating.

The one good thing about the pill is the regularity of periods and being able to put two packs together if we are on holiday or anything like that. I'm due to start a new pack tomorrow and can't quite decide what the best thing to do is...

Get a coil?

I once had a coil and it really caused me a lot of pain. I had to have it removed. So that's a no go
