To feel responsible for things that aren't my fault?

Why do I worry about things like this. I'll give an example. My DS is leaving primary school now next week (not England).
Obviously, due to COVID things have been all over the place the last few months and where we are the children haven't returned to school so won't be back before they leave. The school couldn't offer the usual leavers photo package so another parent organised a parent of a child in another year group to take some photos in a local park.

What you have to do is arrange you kids into friendship groups and then contact the photographer for a time slot. She'll then take an individual and group photo.

For some reason I've got myself all worked up about how the groups will work out and what if some kids are left out and don't get asked to be part of a group. My DS is sorted, but he's a popular kid who could fall into lots of groups but I'm panicking that this isn't going to work out and some kids are going to turn up alone and realise all the other kids have been matched up in groups. Please tell me this isn't my worry and I'm overthinking it?

It's not your worry and you're over thinking it, I'm sure everything will be fine!

It sounds a lot like anxiety to me - how have you found lockdown in general? I think a lot of people are feeling anxious about all sorts of things they wouldn't normally and that's completely understandable! It's been such a strange and unsettling time for everyone and we're all worried about the impact this is going to have on our children.

I think becoming a parent makes you so much more concerned for other people's feelings in general and it would be awful for a child to feel left out, even if it's not yours!

You may be over thinking and worrying, but the fact you are shows you're a nice and thoughtful person and I'd take that over being thoughtless and selfish any day.

Thank you. I would say I'm a little anxious but lockdown has helped because I feel like things are in my control (within my own home at least).
Now things are starting to ease and people are meeting up again I can feel it rising again.
I just would hate to see any kids hurt 😔
