To be frustrated by NatWest

I use online banking to keep track of my incomings and outgoings, to budget, to pay bills etc. However lately I find that my balance can vary by £200 in any week. Today, I'm £200 overdrawn, yesterday I wasn't. I haven't spent any money. I fact I'm too anxious to spend it, because I never know how my account will look. Two weeks ago, £150 just disappeared from my account overnight, I went onto overdraft, a bill couldn't be paid, I incurred charges, and then a few days later the money re appeared in my account.
This isn't normal right?
I've decided to switch bank accounts, as soon as the current overdraft disappears.

I use Monzo, it’s great. Takes money right away and also shows you what’s coming up for direct debits.

As for taking screenshots of banking apps, I can only do it on iPhone. Couldn’t do it when I had an android phone.

I'm with Natwest and have experienced similar. So annoying!!!

tabernacles · 17/06/2020 14:37

Monzo are not great in some other ways though.

They say the right things about equality staff-wise, but don't act on it.

And they deliberately have no rules about how to deal with customer complaints, so there is massive inconsistency in how two customers can be treated in identical situations. Which is going to result in discrimination, because the people likely to have the most resources to push a complaint and be listened to more are often going to be the ones who need compensation the least.

They think they're cool by acting like this, but they aren't.

NatWest are utter shite. I had to deal with them once in a professional capacity and dear god it took 8 calls and two hours to sort out something simple. I ended up with 9 separate complaints against them due the handling of the account and the amount of FCA breaches. Got compensation from them and they the refused to close the account so that was several more calls Angry.

I love nationwide and I can screenshot with them in on my I-phone also we got £300 for switching and more money by using quidco. My husband got £100 to switch, I got £100 to switch and he got £100 bonus for recommending me. The switch process was utterly seamless.
