Can I ask if you’ve ever experienced a form of workplace bullying and if so what form it took and how you addressed it (if at all)?

YABU = never experienced
YANBU = experienced

Family business, manageress (not related) was part of the furniture. It was my first job after messy separation, relocation and during horrible court proceedings.

Manageress belittled every single thing I did. I'd worked in finance for 10 years including cashing up thousands of pounds every day, but every transaction I did was double checked. I was given all the shit jobs and refused training for work tasks that I'd done for years in my previous job and domestically. I was treated like the teenage Saturday girl I was in the 90s. I eventually had enough and during a heated discussion she challenged me to talk to the boss. I did, but he just nodded, despite having been present for many of the bullying INCIDENTS. No HR dept, not in a union.

I walked out and got a new job almost immediately. 10 years on she's still there, zero prospects, will be still there until retirement. I do chuckle when I pop in occasionally and chat with my old friends about my new life, amazing job and several promotions.

Life is too short OP.

Yes I've experienced it. Still upsets me 5 + years after resigning because of it.

Due to my own experience, I firmly believe that anything that makes us more "vulnerable" like this example from a pp is a green light for manipulative bullies in the workplace.

Not so much me but I had to pick up the pieces. DH got a new job after being made redundant for the second time within 8 months. New manager liked him so much at interview, she was on the phone to recruiters before he'd even got home. Fast forward 4 months and there is constant bullying in the office, even remotely via her pet snitch. Not one single positive thing to say at all. HR's attitude was one of "so what".
DH's predecessor quit without having a job to go to, his successor was bullied out within 3 months yet still nobody will actually take notice of the staff turnover in that department.
Thankfully DH got a way better job where he is appreciated and not constantly belittled and bullied.
