What do you think of the governments decision to end the free school meal vouchers for the summer? Do you agree or not?

In ENGLAND you aren’t entitled if you are in receipt of WTC when you apply. However if you were entitled to FSM before (I think as I don’t have the actual paperwork here) April 2018 then you keep it until the end of THAT STAGE of education (so you’d have to reapply when child moved to secondary).

So if you were entitled in January 2018 for your reception child (not withstanding all KS1 children receive UNIVERSAL free infant school meals) and in August 2018 you completed your degree and scored a fantastic job paying £75,000 a year (unlikely I know but......) or you met and married a millionaire, then you would STILL be entitled to FSM until your child left Primary at the end of year 6.

We ARE currently sending FSM vouchers to a family who had a massive change of circumstances and definitely do not need the vouchers and would not be entitled if the application was started now. Of course they may be donating the food bought with the vouchers to a food bank.
