To think that this is an MLM?

I've just been cold-messaged by a friend of a friend of a friend on fb. Never met her, don't know her from Adam, she's not a connection so she's obviously mined a contact list or two to find me. She's "hunned" me for starters, and wants "testers" for products she's selling Hmm. A quick perusal of her page suggests it's a variety of weight loss skinny coffee/juice mlm scam but I can't solidly ID which. "Tropical juice" and "Prevail" seem to be mentioned but no company. I clicked on a # for further posts & still no brand name mentioned although "network marketing" was- bingo. Google brings up the actual juice brand Tropical (it's not this) or suggests it's possibly something to do with Valentus or something called Village but I can't get a definite connection. Does anyone know it?

I'm going to say no, obviously, but I would like to send her a link to mlm truth or similar- and I'd like to be sure it is an MLM. I also ideally want to send her more stuff on the people she's dealing with /being scammed by. Not bothered if she finds it offensive or blocks me - she's a random and she's cold calling so she's got some brass neck.

Can add screen shots of "product" if needed.

DEFINITELY an MLM.

porpoiseinlife · 13/06/2020 17:51

It's definitely an mlm and I detest them. If it was a close friend, I'd go out of my way to warn them. However, someone you don't know, I would just delete and block

Thanks Felicity- am I correct in thinking a Valentus off-shoot? I want some solid "evidence"! Pics included in case anyone recognises the identikit, no doubt cut n paste posts...

Yep. You’re in her sniper sights.

I've sent a very nice reply saying no thanks, you're part of an mlm, don't contact me again and blocked her.

Most bots I've come across have been very obviously shilling a brand- tropic, poonique, monat, herbalife, arbonne, juiceplus, FL etc... the lack of a definite brand here made me MORE suspicious. I'm not normally a crusader but I hate MLMs and I hate the thought of this girl either losing money she can ill afford at this time or parting others from theirs.

I will also ignore what she presumably thinks of my figure to ask if I'd like clearly need toto try a weight loss product Grin.

I have a bot that posts quite similarly. Everything is 'amazing' or 'clinically proven' but she hardly ever names the company - I think it's something like Acti-labs. I do feel sorry for her as this is the at least the fifth MLM she's been sucked into.

A YouTuber I watch because it’s a car crash really, is 3 weeks into FM World. Dupe perfumes/aftershaves/cleaning products....already she’s got the hashtags #girlboss #workfromhome. Naturally, it’s amazing, she’s doing really well....oh! and she’s recruiting if your interested.....

I wouldn't even bother. People like this know they are peddling shit as part of an MLM. Leave them to it
