Registered teachers do not call themselves educators. Nor do lecturers. Or doctors who teach medical students. Or people who teach pilots... etc.

People who bang on with self indugent, wrong headed and downright dangerous twaddle on blogs, insta and twitter, talk shit on television and especially YouTube, call themselves educators. The term should be ridiculed.

Educator and influencer, yes. Full of.

I take your point. But as parents and grandparents we are all educators.
My grandaughter when she was about 8 years old remarked, " Nana, you tell me about lots of different things all the time."
It is one of our roles to teach and educate our children, and not just leave it to teachers in school.

I've only ever heard it used in the Early Years. Lots of us call ourselves Early Years Educators because of the lack of respect we get. One of the prominent Early Years publications is Early Years Educator and it's one of the best out there.

So I suppose if they're trying to influence under 5s, that's OK Smile
