Boris Johnson has said that there will be a mass catchup for school children over the summer. Does anyone know what this will involve?

As long as 'working alongside teachers' does not mean doing the same work as teachers while getting paid a fraction, great. I'm hearing far too many 'professional' expectations of TAs on shit wages. It won't do teachers any good in the long run either, once employers work out that they can get the same, or good enough, work out of people for a lot less. That's how other sectors have found wages plummeting - and one of the reasons why the few remaining unionised sectors are resented.

I expect no one, including Boris himself and the rest of Whitehall, can answer that. They have adopted the ‘announce first, devise later’ approach during this pandemic.

I think the most serious and urgent need for summer catch up is statistics lessons for senior politicians. I might even be willing to help out with that for an appropriate fee!
