Posting here for traffic.

I need to get hold of incident reports from the police.

We’re moving to a new area soon and the council have offered DS a school which is quite far away. I am appealing on a few grounds, my own disability and difficulty accessing the school being one, but the other major one is because DS suffers serious bullying recently, police were involved, and as a result he’s become very anxious about going out alone. Traveling a long distance to school will be really hard for him.

I want to get hold of the police reports/crime numbers etc from the two times there was police involvement due to this bullying to submit as evidence to the appeals panel.

I’ve tried calling 101 but aborted the call as it said it was very busy, and for crime reporting only. I can’t find the telephone number for the local nick, so does anybody know how I can get hold of this information? Do you think it will make a difference if I can, or is it not necessary? I want to be able to prove the severity of the incidents as he has not had involvement from MH services, and it might just look like unsubstantiated lies if I don’t provide any evidence.

Have you tried Googling a local police station and giving them a ring?

A lot of the police websites have the same set up now. If you go to Request button, then Information, Request information about yourself, my own personal interest, information other than conviction history then there is link to subject access request form. Eg for Met www.met.police.uk/rqo/request/ri/request-information/rso/request-information-about-yourself-or-someone-else/request-information-about-me-other-than-criminal-convistion-history/?lid=&cid=&rid=73562&stepid=1-1-1

Poor boy. Are you trying to get him a place at a nearer school or transport to the other school.

You won’t get a local police number for crime management units . You’ll need to either go through 101 , and it might direct you through the automated system , but a better bet would probably be email .

Thanks all.

I’m trying to get him into the local, much closer school.

I managed to find the shoulder numbers of the officers who dealt with the incidents so I called 101, navigated through their labyrinthine automated telephone system and I was put through to the local police station. The man I spoke to was very helpful and gave me an email address which I have emailed. Hopefully I’ll get a response.
