YANBU : A sign of imbalance. Some things should stay private.

YABU : Do what you like. There is no problem being a completely open book to all.

I came off Facebook because of this
Its just easier to not see all the annoying posts but its an individual choice. It doesn't mean I am right and the other person is wrong

noseresearch · 10/06/2020 15:15

I came off facebook years ago because I was bored with all the sharing.
But people can post what they like. No one's forcing you to read it.
Same, agree completely^

Social media is what you make of it - you don’t have to follow those annoying accounts if you don’t want to. You don’t even have to check social media so often

I use Twitter still but I like to follow people with the same interests, it’s almost like a news source for me too.

Also, even those people who post a lot doubt they’re sharing everything about their life - it’s still an edited snapshot in their lives

Nonotthisagain · 10/06/2020 15:19

Not getting enough attention OP so you keep bumping your post with dots? 🙄

swaywithme · 10/06/2020 15:24

YABU, if it's so boring why do you look? Why have any social media at all if you apparently don't care what people are up to? How is MNing any better than scrolling through FB/Instagram?

oohnicevase · 10/06/2020 15:38

I know a few people who do this , they are well in their 40's . I don't get how they haven't grown out of it !! I'm not on fb anymore but it's very cringy!! But yeah each to their own ! 🤷‍♀️

Just defriend them, you are way too humble to be friends with those people

Well you'd hate me as I'm always posting crap. I do it as I like the memories that come up the next year and so on. Through lockdown it's helped me realise I am doing some nice things too.

But I like looking at other people's crap too so if you don't I suggest Facebook isn't for you.

Not planning to grow out of it just yet @oohnicevase but hopefully you don't know me so I can't annoy you WinkGrin

earthyfire · 10/06/2020 15:52

Personally I don't understand it, people who are actually in my life know about my life. There are people on my facebook who I don't want knowing the ins and outs of my arse. However, I find it worse with celebrities on instagram. They've got worse since lockdown so I've unfollowed.

LizTaylorsFabulousTurban · 10/06/2020 15:54

I've been on my own for three months. My cat can only provide so much social interaction, so I am posting more on Facebook. It's my link with the world right now. You don't know everyone's situation and don't have to follow them if you would rather not see it.

oohnicevase · 10/06/2020 16:49

Another thing is why do people post when their house is empty . So so stupid !! 🙄🙄

GreyGardens88 · 10/06/2020 16:52

I think it was common in like 2010 to do this, not anymore. I just use facebook for groups for my hobbies now. There's one person though who does this on my feed, I keep looking at his posts for a laugh to see just how pointless they get
