We're hopefully going away in July for 2 weeks to a self catering cottage in Dorset.

Obviously hoping for lovely weather so the children (6.5 and 5) can play in the garden, we can go for walks and go to the beach etc.

But I'm trying to think of things to bring incase the weather isn't great so we aren't relying on screens for long periods of time.

So far I have ordered some new sticker books and colouring books. I'll bring some playdoh. A couple of board games like frustration and twister.

Ideas gratefully received! Thank you.

Board games! My DC are 4 & 6 and they love:
Junior Monopoly (we have the Minions one)
Snakes and Ladders
Junior Dobble
Ludo (we have a Paw Patrol one)
Forest Games (Orchard Games)

We also play Frustration with a pack of cards.

Waterbeads/Orbeez can keep my 6yo amused for hours. Tiny to transport but become a big toy when you add water, great sensory play & adding some small figures to the tub makes for limitless imaginary play too.

Can you try weening them off screens before your holiday to make it easier? I've reduced the amount of screen time gradually over lockdown so now just have 45 mins in the evening so my DD knows to play on her own or with me and screens aren't mentioned.
Magazines are good and she likes it when I draw with her.
The tray game is good where you take things off and try to remember.
