Neighbours

I hate confrontation but I'm getting a bit tired of my neighbours taking the mick:

  • constant litter
  • throwing cigarette butts on my side of the drive rather than getting an ash tray.
  • child playing on my side of the drive right next to my car rather than playing on his own side.
  • fence fallen down, not the fence bordering my house but it looks terrible.
  • grass never mown and no weeding/weed killer so my garden needs a lot more work because they spread.
  • they use my outdoor tap without asking.
  • they smoke on my drive and under my kitchen window.

They are nice people in general but ahhhhhh!

I have 2 outside taps (hot and cold) however no one can use them as there’s a little lever thing under my sink that has to be turned in order for them to work, that prevents any CFs having a go. Have a look to see if you have similar. If not, install a lock as PPs mentioned.

As far as the smoking goes I’d have a polite word. It’s just not on. Be assertive!

Bag up the rubbish and give it to them, tell them to smoke on their own property. Either lock the tap or put an isolation valve in if possible.

They won't stop unless you do something. We've just had a new neighbour move in behind us, it's rented, so there has been a high turnover of tenants who have been a pain in the arse. One whiff of an issue with this one and me and my next door neighbour are going to be all over it.

We've tolerated a certain amount over the years and I'm buggered if I'm going to now, no matter how big and "scary" they may look.
