Cerazette problems

To ask... Anyone else having problems with Cerazette? I was on it previously, but came off it because it was making me super dizzy. Went back on it as my post pregnancy periods were horrendous, only to have, pretty much, a constant period for months now. It has never settled. Anyone else? Have they changed it recently? It used to be so good- (apart from the dizziness).

How strange, I was just saying to my DH last night I might come off Cerazette. I was on it for about 10 years with no issues, didn’t have periods at all and no other side effects. Came off it to have a baby and went back on it about 6/7 months ago after having her and it’s been awful! Constant spotting and cramps. I’ve been feeling a bit dizzy too and wondering if it’s to do with the pill.

I was given Cerrelle once as well as it’s cheaper to the NHS apparently but it was terrible so went back to Cerazette but I definitely think they’ve changed it. Not sure what to do as I get awful periods without taking anything and I’ve never tried anything other than the pill!

It's strange how we all react differently to things. I've been on it for years and haven't lost a drop of blood. So no period and cycle which is strange.

So glad all of you have mentioned feeling the different between Cerelle/Cerazette.

I was ok Cerazette for years and then one day I collected my repeat and they’d changed it to Cerelle. I had such excruciating cramps on it - and I mean agonising. Incapacitating. I went back to the nurse and she totally fobbed me off and said there was no way that would have happened! I wasn’t allowed back on Cerazette so had to have the implant instead.

I had the same with (unexpected) switch from Cerazette to Cerelle. No problems on Cerazette, severe cramps and bleeding on Cerelle. Does anyone have any idea why - I checked at the time, and they seemed to be exactly the same active hormone ingredients?

I've been on it since dd was born and was bf that was 10 years ago. I haven't had any problems and no bleeding other than spotting but not very often.

So after a half-hour phone call with the doc, where she tried to persuade me to get the mirena, (nope- just the though gives me the heebiejeebies), she’s going to try me on a different progesterone-only pill for three months to see if that makes a difference.
Like others I also have bad dizziness and the constant rage!! As a previous poster said that’s contraceptive enough!! Not planning any more kids, so might try to persuade himself to get the snip.

I was on it and got pregnant. It was a shock at the time. Not a problem now - happy with dc!

I had this same problem with Cerazette - pretty much constant period. My GP suggested taking two of them per day and now the bleeding has entirely stopped.

Inspired by your thread I contacted the GP today.
I hate male GP's for things like this. He won't let me just change back to Cerazette.
I have to have a chlamydia test and then an internal examination. I said I have been with my dh for the last 18 years and so its very unlikely that I have chlamydia. He said he has to follow a process...and in the meantime I will just keep bleeding!!

I’d been on Microgynon with no issues for years but after I had dd I went on Cerazette as I was breast feeding. It was 4 months of pretty much constant bleeding, it also really affected my mood.

I didn’t notice at first as I was on maternity leave but it got to the point where I didn’t really want to leave the house. I don’t know if it was the pill / the constant bleeding / feeling so tired. After several visits to the doctor, a smear, an internal ultrasound, an internal examination and swabs being taken I was advised that everything appeared fine and to stop taking the Cerazette as it wasn’t working for me. They did offer me an alternative, but I decided maybe I needed to stop messing with my hormones for a while.

I am so glad I landed on this conversation!
Late 40s here and early menopause but none of the classic symptoms as yet. However, for a while I have been suffering with sever pelvic pain during periods. The pain is SO intense and debilitating and radiates down to my upper thighs. I stop living for 2-3 days each months and just eat painkillers.

It's a long story but my pain is likely related to Adenomyosis and at the latest consultation with an hormone expert (apparently) and some blood tests I was prescribed the Cerezette.

I understand that the pill should suppress the cycle meaning no bleeding. For my condition no bleeding = no pain so in theory sounds good, but from what I am reading here is completely the opposite. I think most of you are reporting problem with heavy and constant bleeding when started with this pill. This is scary. I also used to have the a Mirena coil years ago which initiated horrendous bleeding until I took it out.
So is this Cerazette pill a version of the Mirena? I am not going to have any more DCs (have lovely two and very happy) but need to kill this pain. Does anyone else used Cerazette for similar reasons with any success?

Well, 2 weeks into a fresh start and new pack of Cerazette and I'm spotting! Really fed up of this.

Hey. New here. But I don’t wanna keep going to the doctors for every little thing. I came off cerelle (the pill) a little over a month ago. But my boobs are literally agony! And have been since. Every day. They are worse when I take my bra off (I’m wearing a very expensive supportive one)

But my god! My boobs are so painful. It’s happening in both not just one which reassured me it’s nothing horrific (hopefully) but can anyone else just reassure me they went through the same? And tell me how long they had it for ?

Thanks in advance :)

How long after stopping the pill did you stop bleeding? I'm in the same situation and just stopped taking cerazette 2 days ago.

It made me a spotty, fatter, raging monster. I stuck it out for three months. I hated that pill so so much.
