To still give my 5 yo DD a Dummy?

She only has one for bed but sometimes she comes home from school and sticks one in her gob. I really want to get her out of this bad habit but she is such an adamant little madam that has to get her own way - I know I am too soft my DH has told me.

Should I let her carry on with the Dummy and hope she grows out of it or stop her having one and if so HOW???

I look after my 4 year old niece 4 days a week, Before she started nursey a year ago both myself and my sis made a big deal of putting all her dummies in an envelope and letting her post them to other babies who needed them,

Not sure what workers at the post office thought when they got the envelope but it worked for my niece, if she asked for them we just told her the babies had them now as she is a big girl and doesn't need them.

aha the challenges with wanky to do ticklist and lil bats

chaostrulyreigns · 25/07/2010 23:02

Rumbled.

Val and I were having a messabout - who could get the most posts on a thread older than two years before someone (fekker) noticed and outed us.

Hers was right boring but she won.

scottishmummy · 25/07/2010 23:07

BoysAreLikeDogs · 25/07/2010 23:08

clicky click but don't tell sm or she'll bollock me

chaostrulyreigns · 25/07/2010 23:10

Yep inane it is but we all get our fun different ways.

Some people are great at being able to sum up a situation in an articulate way

and some are just plain silly.

scottishmummy · 25/07/2010 23:10

no biggie some one had to post it.

Valpollicella · 25/07/2010 23:12

Totally inane SM. Inane is what I needed this evening

chaostrulyreigns · 25/07/2010 23:12

Sorry sm - that first sentence wasn't worded right - I think I'm just saying that different posters have different strengths here on MN - you seem to have a great ability to sum up a situation well, I can't ever hope to be that articulate - so I stick to silliness generally.

scottishmummy · 25/07/2010 23:13

then your cup overfloweth here

chaostrulyreigns · 25/07/2010 23:15

touche

scottishmummy · 25/07/2010 23:17

hiw do you find old post?are they in singles bar?dank archive?how do you recall a post, dont know

Valpollicella · 25/07/2010 23:21

Just go to any topic SM

And then click on 'Last'

There's some pretty old ones out there...

chaostrulyreigns · 25/07/2010 23:21

oh - click on Talk:Topics

Pick a topic - it tells how many pages there are in the topic - type in random number and then you see old stuff - I think the smaller the number the older the page.

scottishmummy · 25/07/2010 23:24

how do you all know all this.like that weird narnia vibe that went on.you recall that?

Valpollicella · 25/07/2010 23:27

Oh Narnia. Farking hell. That was a nightmare

Not hard thought just to click on 'Last' in Chat, or whatever

scottishmummy · 25/07/2010 23:29

im amazed folk know all this. i know post message y'all and that is it

chaostrulyreigns · 25/07/2010 23:32

What was Narnia?

BoysAreLikeDogs · 25/07/2010 23:33

usually it's newbies who bump old threads

I missed all the narnia stuff but heard about it after

scottishmummy · 25/07/2010 23:35

oh hush your mouth all that newbie rubbish.

Valpollicella · 25/07/2010 23:37

Ah sorry Bald. We were just messing about

Narnia - basically a way of posting on old thread via Google (I believe?) That then new posts didn't show up on that thread.

So you could go and post nastiness on an old thread without it appearing in active convos or whatever...but you could link to it.

Got nasty

BoysAreLikeDogs · 25/07/2010 23:38

oh I do like a bit of gum bumping

Right, orf to bed have you SEEN the time?
