Today DD (11) went back to school - she wanted to go - it felt okay (we've were all exposed or had Covid back in late March) but my DD who is 7 just didn't want to do anything. I managed to do some maths and handwriting and a bit of English but that was it.
But that was the good bits of the day.
I have a house full of stuff that needs sorting or throwing out but I can't seem to motivate myself.
I have managed to keep up a fitness routine, do lots of home cooking but everything else has been such a struggle.
When I see all the celebrity mums and the mums on IG doing all their arts and crafts and managing to get their kids to go for long walks (mine just moan and moan) I feel even more demotivated.
I lost my job (it was a freelance contract to be fair) back in April and I think I'm finding being a housewife really hard especially as I saw my career as an extension of myself.
I just need some tips on how to get myself going again.. has anyone managed this?!!

Get off of Instagram and the like. That's not real life.

Have a week off from the battles. Don't worry about walks or school work for a bit. Let her do what she wants for a week. While she's doing that you can get started on the clearing out, just one box/cupboard/shelf a day, don't aim too high. It's often the starting that's the hard bit, once you get going you'll be ok. You could also do one thing per day that's job related (make a list, sort CV, look at ads/courses etc.).
