So I've been searching for a cheap and cheerful coffee table.
I found one on amazon for £13.99 and it looked decent.
Delivery due today.
Knock on the door ..
Amazon driver with my package
It was a dolls house coffee table Blush
I didn't read the measurements Grin

I remember my friend looking through pictures of things I was selling years ago. She said I should have given her first refusal on the cowboy boots. I then pointed out they were Sindy doll size and wouldn't fit her.

I now put DOLL in my titles so what happened to you doesn't happen to others!

bigchris · 31/05/2020 21:36

Oh I have had a rubbish day and this has made me smile ! Thanks Grin

justanotherneighinparadise · 31/05/2020 21:38

I think we need to see it in situ Grin

DuckALaurent · 31/05/2020 21:40

I know a girl who did this but with a dining table. She hired a van to collect it along with a couple of male relatives to go along to lift it into the van. Handover was apparently hilarious Grin

Soubriquet · 31/05/2020 21:44

I was over the moon 7 years ago when I ordered those foam squares with the letters and numbers in it, for my dd to play with.

Thought I had gotten a bargain

They were delivered and I saw the packaging and thought “oh..they have only sent one square”

Nope...it was a small one.

Dh pissed himself laughing and still does when he thinks about it

MuseumOfYou · 31/05/2020 21:44

My friend realising his bargain Converses weren't such a great deal after all.

I've done the same but received a ridiculous foot stool outdoor beanbag - which is about 20cm cube so not even doll size. Just odd. Ikea Lack coffee tables used to be cheap if that's any help. I feel the pain

lyralalala · 31/05/2020 22:05

I did similar ordering a carpet online. Found an absolute bargain. Had muddled up feet and meters. Was like a cute little rug in the middle of the floor

ElizabethG81 · 31/05/2020 22:08

Grin Pleeeeaaase can we have a photo?

squaresandsquares · 31/05/2020 22:18

Amazing.
I brought a cheap table for camping, was so impressed with the price. Turns out it was a very very small table for like a plate and tiny legs so no room underneath

SerenDippitty · 31/05/2020 22:22

Someone, don't recall who, confessed to this on Would I Lie To You - she ordered a chest of drawers only to find when it arrived it was a dolls house one.

Davros · 31/05/2020 22:26

Made me guffaw

Toddlerteaplease · 31/05/2020 22:29

I know someone who ordered an easel for her son. Except it was a dolls house one!

CharlottaCarlotta · 31/05/2020 22:34

I’ve made this mistake with sandals for my teenage son, I ordered boys size 7 but infant 7 sandals were delivered. We did see the funny side. Apparently footwear is one of the most returned items from Amazon. I wonder if that is why.

mrsbyers · 31/05/2020 22:36

My husband did this with two pairs of desert boots , childs size 11 delivered

ShredMeJillianIWantToBeNatalie · 31/05/2020 22:39

Are we doing Stone’enge tonight or not then? Grin

chickedeee · 31/05/2020 22:39

I ordered 8 bananas on my tesco delivery but they were packs of 8.

64 bananas turned up 🍌

I was too embarrassed to turn them away 😁

Fluffycloudland77 · 31/05/2020 22:40

I have come close to doing the same. It’s easier than you think sometimes.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 31/05/2020 22:41

You're not a massive idiot OP, just a teeny, tiny, doll-sized idiot. Grin

ShredMeJillianIWantToBeNatalie · 31/05/2020 22:46

My mum did this with a Christmas tree she ordered from someone at work. Didn’t bother to check the size just found herself impressed with the price.

My dad phoned her on the day it was being delivered at work and left a message with reception to say he’d come in and carry it down to the car.

It was about 18 inches high.

When they got home my dad got out of the car in absolute tears he was laughing so much. Me and my brother ran out to the car looking for this amazing new Christmas tree we’d cleared a corner of the living room for. My mum got out of the passenger seat clutching this bonsai and looking really embarrassed Grin

Eckhart · 31/05/2020 22:46

Not massively idiotic, no.

I'd say it's more like 'pleasingly idiotic' Grin

Gammeldragz · 31/05/2020 22:47

@BlackAmericanoNoSugar

You're not a massive idiot OP, just a teeny, tiny, doll-sized idiot. Grin
Star best response...

I've been disappointed by several Ebay furniture listings when I realised they were dollhouse things. Then surprised at how comparatively expensive they are!

B0bbin · 31/05/2020 22:49

This is brilliant and has made me chuckle, which I needed. Grin

SerenDippitty · 31/05/2020 22:50

I ordered some toilet paper from amazon back at the time you couldn't get any in the shops. It took about a month to arrive, and then the rolls were half the size (in terms of numbers of sheets) I was expecting.

B0bbin · 31/05/2020 22:51

ShredMeJillianIWantToBeNatalie: your story has made me cry tears of laughterSmileGrin
